Performing arts in Peacebuilding and community work

Performing arts can play an important role in peacebuilding by opening space for dialogue and helping people engage with difficult topics.

Inspired by the Theatre of the Oppressed and other artistic methods, Nina Rosstalnyj works on various projects addressing peace and conflict in the widest sense. With an organization based in Munich, she develops a performative piece expressing what young people from Germany and abroad think about peace, war, inequality, and hope. With partners from South Africa, she is working on a long-term project to explore how artistic collaborations can contribute to a more peaceful society.
