Stephen Gray
Non-violent Action, Advocacy and Social Change
Stephen Gray is an international affairs professional specialising in peacebuilding innovation. He is the Director of the NGO Adapt Peacebuilding and a Doctoral Researcher at University of Sussex.
Stephen has spent the last 18 years supporting organisations in conflict-affected contexts to design and implement non-violent solutions to complex social and political challenges. His particular expertise involves methodologies for inclusive peacebuilding and peace processes, participatory and complexity-based methodologies for programming and MEAL, and non-violent strategies for transforming unjust power relations. Stephen’s motivation for this course is the joy he gains from connecting with passionate people working on conflict transformation around the world, who give him a sense of hope that our vision of a less violent and more just world is in good hands.
