Content
This course introduces the psychology of human aggression and violence - its roots, causes and effects on individuals, groups and societies - as well as psychosocial approaches to violence prevention and recovery, and psychological foundations for interpersonal and intergroup peace. Topics are grounded in international research, theory and practice.

Online Live Sessions: Take-off session: October 27; live sessions from 3 November to 15 December 2021; every Wednesday from 12:00 to 14:00 CET
Methodology:
The course employs a blended-learning approach, combining video lectures, self-paced readings and individual reflection assignments with live sessions, online exercises and exchange that deepen participants’ understanding of these topics and their implications for practice in settings affected by conflict, violence and fragility.
Deliverables:
To obtain a certificate of completion for the course, participants are expected to: listen to weekly video lectures, read assigned articles, complete weekly individual reflection exercises, contribute 1 written remark each week to the group discussion Forum, attend a minimum of 4 live sessions and complete online self-paced quizzes.
Participants will have the option to share a 5-10 minute podcast on a peace psychology topic or practice of their choosing with the group.
Total expected weekly hours: 4 – 6 hours (including live sessions)
