Bastian Gabrielli

Trainer for Applied Conflict Analysis

Bastian Gabrielli works as a freelance education consultant for various programs. His areas of focus include development policy, anti-discrimination, the culture of remembrance, trauma sensitivity, and war and peace in an international context. Stays in Ukraine (2008–09, 2023) and Tanzania (2010–18), as well as frequent trips to Rwanda, have been fundamental to his career path.

He has a particular interest in conflicts stemming from (neo)colonial continuity, such as the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and its impact on the ongoing conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The often paralyzing effect of conflicts motivated him to further his education in conflict analysis and transformation; he completed the course in peace and conflict work at the Academy for Conflict Transformation in 2025. Driven by this motivation, he supports people in addressing conflicts with greater self-efficacy.
